For the first time ever, I've done all of my Christmas shopping online and I don't know why I haven't gone down that route in the past. It started with two food (Marks & Spencer) and drink (Virgin Wines) orders a couple of weeks back and then turned into an online money-letting spree after that. In fact the only Christmas item bought over the traditional counter this year was an impulse-buy star which now hangs outside our front door transmitting flashing lights into our neighbours' front rooms across the road.
Forget the mince pies and reindeer food for Santa and Rudolph; this year it should have been a cup of tea for the eastern European drivers from Amazon.
